Hello!  Welcome to Joy School!  I am very excited to meet with your kiddos over the next 4 weeks.  I am also excited about this blog that we can share our children's journey over the next 64 Joy School Days!

Some things decided at the Meeting today!

School Materials list:

Pencil Box (With Child's name)
Crayons
Scissors (Child safe)
Markers
Pencil
Ruler
Spiral Notebook
Place mat for Circle Time!
All of these items will be included in a Bin that will travel to the next Teacher of the month.

School Calendar for Circle time
Binder with Child information
Attendance Chart
Weather Chart
Helper Chart, Prayer Helper, Pledge Helper, Weather Helper, Snack Helper, Day of the Week helper, Line Leader (Helpers switch daily)  ROTATE :)
Small Flag for Pledge
Snack plates
Old T-Shirts or Aprons for art activities???

SNACKS!

We will each be bringing snacks for our own kiddos.  That way we can avoid food concerns.  Host Teacher will provide drinks.

Daily Schedule

9:00-9:15 Social time or Gathering Activity while all kids are arriving

9:15-9:30 Circle time  (As the year goes on this will get longer)  Daily Things:
Pledge and Prayer
Calendar
Birthdays
Weather

9:30-10:10 Free Choice/Lesson (5 or 6 activities or centers that children can choose, 2 or 3 that go along or center around theme of the week)  The idea is that children can come and go as they please and they do not have to do all activities.  I understand that depending on your house and set up, this time may look different for everyone. 

Examples:  Dress Up area
                   Kitchen or Store
                    Blocks
                   Writing/Cutting/gluing/Stamps
                    Science Center
                    Computer

10:15-10:30- Snack Time

10:30-10:45 Outside time with Balls or Playground (Weather permiting)/  Sensory table or  Movement activity/Songs/Games (Inside)

10:50-11:15- Group Craft or closing story or game


This is a general idea of a schedule!  I know that everyone is different, everyone's houses are different, so this may not work for everyone.

I think the most important thing is that we all do CIRCLE TIME!  Somewhat the same, with Weather, Day ETC.... :)   EVERYTHING ELSE IS SUBJECT TO GO ACCORDING TO WHAT YOU HAVE PLANNED!

I do know from experience that kids do BEST!  When they know what to expect, and how it is going to be done.

Ok!   I am sure I will have a bunch more posts after this, I will do the Year Calendar with the Letter of the week and who is teaching when, but I am getting hungry and tired!
